Originally a New South Wales only lottery, Saturday Lotto is run by the Tatts Group. The first Saturday Lotto draw took place way back in 1972, and have been taking place every Saturday at 20:30 local time ever since.
Initially Saturday Lotto was a 6/49 format lottery – similar to many European draws. However, in 1985 it was changed slightly to a 6/45, with 2 bonus numbers.

The Saturday Lotto has evolved to become e 6/45 format game. To win the jackpot you’ll need to match all 6 numbers. However, there are 6 prize tiers and you only have to match 1 main number and 2 bonus numbers to get a prize. The cumulative probability of winning (single game) for the 6thtier is 1 in 85.
